Churchill Downs Inc. is purchasing two new video boards for the Fair Grounds.
NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports the track will be installing two high definition video screens by the opening of the 2014-15 racing season. One will replace the broken screen in the infield, and another will go in the paddock.
The broken video screen in the infield has been a point of contention with patrons. Fixing it was one of the requirements stipulated by the Louisiana Racing Commission for Churchill Downs to be granted a license renewal to run the track.
The video screens cost approximately $300,000. Construction will begin immediately.
