"Slap Ya Mama" Officials Bewildered By NFL's Stance On Virtual Ad

Posted August 25th, 2014 @ 8:59pm

A spokesman for the Cajun food products company "Slap Ya Mama" says company officials are "shocked and baffled" that the NFL told Cox Sports Television (CST) to stop airing the company's red zone virtual signage ads during Saints' preseason telecasts.

Jack Walker says it's his understanding the NFL does not want the words "Slap Ya Mama" on the TV screen when the Saints are in the red zone in light of domestic violence issues facing the league.

Walker says CST aired the ads the last two seasons and this season as well, and the NFL didn't have a problem with them until now.

"In past years, no one had any issues, there were no problems. The NFL didn't even bat an eye at it, they never said anything to us," Walker said.

Walker says company ads will continue to run in regular commercial breaks during Thursday night's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
