Lainey Wilson, Vince Gill To Deliver Emotional 2025 Emmy Awards Performance

Lainey Wilson is “so looking forward to” taking the stage with Vince Gill at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday evening (September 14). The show will take place at The Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Wilson shared a photo of the two Grammy-winning artists in the studio on Instagram on Thursday evening (September 11). The Whirlwind star confirmed that she and Gill will perform “Go Rest High On That Mountain,” a powerful ballad that Gill released in the 1990s, for the In Memoriam tribute during the Emmys. On Friday (September 12), three decades after the original debuted, Gill released “the extended version with the third verse you’ve only been able to hear live.”

Nashville, Tennessee-born comedian Nate Bargatze will host the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. Some of the leading nominees include Severance, The Penguin, The Studio, The White Lotus and The Last of Us. The star-studded list of presenters includes Elizabeth Banks, Ike Barinholtz, Angela Bassett, Jason Bateman, Kathy Bates, Kristen Bell, Alexis Bledel, Sterling K. Brown, Stephen Colbert, Jennifer Coolidge, Alan Cumming, Eric Dane, Colman Domingo, Tina Fey, Walton Goggins, Tony Goldwyn, Lauren Graham, Kathryn Hahn, Mariska Hargitay, Justin Hartley, Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, James Marsden, Christopher Meloni, Leanne Morgan, Julianne Nicholson, Jenna Ortega, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Parker Posey, Jeff Probst, Phylicia Rashad, Hiroyuki Sanada, Anna Sawai, Michael Schur, Sydney Sweeney, Sofia Vergara, Jesse Williams and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Viewers can watch the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 14 live at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner will host Entertainment Tonight’s Live on the Emmys Red Carpet at 7:00 PM ET / 4:00 PM PT.
