Calling all Marilyn Monroe Fans. Netflix is making a Marilyn Monroe film.
According to Vogue, Baptized “Blonde”, the latest film to be made about the Hollywood icon, by Australian director, Andrew Dominik for Netflix, will be inspired by Joyce Carol Oates’ fictional account of the star’s inner life. Ana de Armas, the fresh face on the screen in “Blade Runner 2049”, could next be seen in the role of Marilyn Monroe.
Although there are beloved documentaries already is existence like My Week With Marilyn (2013) featuring Michelle Williams or The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe (2015), there is a lack of raw documentaries revealing the lonely and not-so-fabulous behind the scenes struggles that Marilyn faced throughout her career.
Now, a film about the life of Marilyn Monroe is in the pipelines, adapted from Joyce Carol Oates’ novel Blonde, released in 2000 and nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for fiction. Shedding light on the inner workings of the icon’s life, the book paints a powerful picture of America, prey to social and patriarchal injustices.
