I moved to New Orleans a little over a year ago and I'll admit, while I love the city, but I've been searching for a sense of community...and a little bit of peace, too. I love my wild, wonderful, weird life here, but it's overwhelming at times.
Evan and Leah Pitts recently moved from Hammond to start a new church in New Orleans, and they just so happened to move into my apartment complex.
I walked by a sign for one of their launch meetings in my building and I didn't really think twice about it. I'm not a church person. But out of curiosity I decided to look them up online.
Immediately I was struck by the spirit of this family. I found myself walking into their meeting a few days later. And then going back the next week, and the week after that.
Am I really going to church??
Here's the thing - Church 54 isn't your typical church and I think that's why I've stuck with it. Watch my interview with Evan Pitts and you may understand.
