Chatting with Austin Cindric

Austin Cindric is having a great year in NASCAR's Xfinity Series. So far this season, Cindric has chalked up five wins, 15 top fives, 21 top tens, and went into the Round of 12 seeded second. He is currently second in points as the Xfinity Series enters the Round of 8. The Round of 8 will include this Saturday night's race at Kansas Speedway, next weekend's race at Texas, and Halloween's Martinsville race. After Martinsville, the final race of the year will happen at Phoenix where the top four drivers will have the slate wiped clean and one of those drivers will walk away the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion. While it won't be determined until after the next three races, Austin Cindric has an excellent chance of being one of those four drivers going for the championship trophy at Phoenix.

Austin was kind enough to call today to chat about the remainder of the season, who he has to beat at Phoenix to win the championship should he be in the Championship 4, his plans for the offseason, and the 2021 season where he'll be a full time driver in the Xfinity Series and will run select races in Cup.

Check out our conversation in it's entirety below, and don't miss all of the racing action this weekend! The opening race in the Round of 8 Playoffs of the NASCAR Xfinity Series is Saturday night when Kansas Speedway hosts the Kansas Lottery 300 at 7 pm EDT on NBCSN. Then tune in Sunday for the first race in the Round of 8 of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs when the Hollywood Casino 400 takes place at 2:30 pm EDT on NBC.
