If you watched American Idol last night, you saw an audition from 15 year old Casey Bishop from Estero, Florida that knocked your socks off! And if you missed it, luckily the video is below so that you can see how amazing she is!
Casey started off by saying that she has no performing experience and the only people that knows she can sing are close friends. She named Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Sublime as her favorite bands and said she loves blues like Elle Fitzgerald. She then tore into a blues version of Motley Crue's "Live Wire." Side note...the fact that she can take "Live Wire" and transform it into the style in which she sang it is stunning in itself... but her performance and her VOICE!... just WOW WOW WOW!!!
Katie then asked Casey to sing some of the "Ella Fitzgerald that she likes," saying she wanted to hear soul in Casey's voice. Casey countered with the Ella Fitzgerald/Sarah Vaughan-inspired rendition of "My Funny Valentine," and if the judges had any reservations about her before, they were certainly gone. Luke said "I think she's the damn winner of American Idol. Period." and all three judges sent Casey through to Hollywood.
It is going to be SO fun to watch her journey this season. Casey is a STAR!
