I do love Martina McBride! I remember Garth Brooks once upon a time describing her as a "little bitty woman with a great big voice" and he was dead on!

Martina busted onto the Country Music scene in 1993 with "My Baby Loves Me" and has since chalked up over 25 big hits and countless accolades, including four CMA Female Vocalist of the Year awards and three ACM Female Vocalist of the Year awards. Martina will bring her AMAZING music to Family Gras this Sunday in Metairie at Mardi Gras Plaza across from Lakeside Shopping Center.

Family Gras actually kicks this afternoon at 4 and runs today, tomorrow, and Sunday with three days of music, food, and family fun! It's also a great place to watch this weekend's Metairie parades roll. Family Gras is free, and all info can be found here!

Martina called earlier today to chat about Family Gras, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, the delicious food around here, her exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and what's she's been up to! Hear our chat in it's entirety below.

I can't wait for all of the fun of Family Gras this weekend, especially Sunday when Amanda Shaw, Lauren Alaina, and Martina McBride take the stage! Hope to see you there!
