NHC Highlights Possible Development Area Off U.S. East Coast

The National Hurricane Center has highlighted an area off the U.S. East Coast for possible development over the next seven days.

"An area of low pressure is expected to form on Saturday along a frontal system off of the southeastern coast of the United States," said the NHC. "Additional slow development could occur through early next week as the system moves slowly east-northeastward."

There is no threat to Louisiana from this potential system.

The hurricane season runs through November 30.
