Bitterly Cold Air To Sweep In After Rain

Bitterly cold arctic air is on the way for residents of southeast Louisiana after a rainy weekend.

The biggest impacts from freezing rain are expected to be to our north and west. Closer to the coast, there is a chance for some strong storms Saturday and Sunday before the rain moves out of the area.

Behind that, a blast of winter air will lead to multiple nights of hard freezes. An extreme cold warning will be in effect from Sunday at 6pm through Noon Tuesday. You're urged to protect people, pets, plants and pipes. For the latest information on warming shelters in your area, tap or click here.
